Dear Residents,
Tomorrow, Thursday, July 13, 2023, the Town’s civil engineering contractor, Charles P. Johnson & Associates, Inc. (CPJ), will have a survey crew on site to mark the front property corners of the Franklin Street residences that will be affected by the previously reported upcoming Washington Gas main line replacement project. The property corners will show the edge of the public right-of-way, and the distance between the front property line and the back side of the curb.
Specific Details: The property corners are metal pins/pipes/rebars that are in the ground and may or may not have colored plastic caps on them. Most of the pipes in the Town are older iron pipes. When the survey crew comes through tomorrow to set or recover the corners, it will leave a wooden stake behind that is right next to the pipe. These stakes are about 2’ tall and have orange ribbon wrapped around the top. We ask residents to not remove the wood stakes when mowing and whatnot (or disturb any of the paint marks) as we have asked the crew to also spray a little bit of orange paint on the top of the older iron pipes as well.
The Town is working with Washington Gas and its subcontractor, NPL, to finalize the start date of this project, which will most likely be early next week. Please keep your eyes peeled for more up-to-date information in the next day or two.
Thank you.
