WSSC did not repair the water main break today. They are prioritizing the many water main breaks where homeowners are without water. WSSC will be on-site tomorrow to address the water main break at 4213 Glenrose Street. Water is running east to west near the curb on the block between Summit Avenue and Cedar Lane. Ice has accumulated. WSSC is sending a road crew tonight to treat the road. Please try to avoid the area until this repair has been completed. If you must travel on this block of Glenrose Street, please drive carefully.

Ecology Services suspended their pickups for the day due to travel and safety concerns. Both trash and recycling will be picked up on Friday, 1/19/24. Please remove your toters from the curb until this Friday.

The Town Council will meet at the new Town Meeting Room. Residents may attend in person or virtually. Presentation 7:00 PM MDOT Representative to Present to Council a review of the study of Franklin Street and Connecticut Avenue intersection. A representative of Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) will remotely join the Town Council Meeting to present the findings of the most recent study regarding the intersection of Connecticut Avenue and Franklin Street. Compost Crew, a locally owned business based in Rockville, MD, provides composting service to the Town of Chevy Chase View. WHAT IS NEW FOR 2024? The Town of Chevy Chase View has started a one-year pilot program with Compost Crew. Starting February 1st, the Town will now pay 50% of the monthly service fee for the 7-gallon bucket. HOW DOES IT WORK? Please be advised that Montgomery County Transfer Stations are closed. The Town's contractor, Ecology Services, will collect our trash and recycling tomorrow, Saturday, January 20, 2024, weather permitting.

Christmas trees will be removed curbside every Monday during the month of January as part of the weekly yard waste collection, with the exception of Monday, January 1st. Yard Waste collection will shift to Tuesday, January 2, 2024 to include tree removal. All other collections will continue on their regular schedule. Happy New Year!
