HALLOWEEN Update: Reyes Construction is working today, October 30th. At the end of the workday, M. T. Laney will make sure that this block of the roadway is fully secured and place cones along curbs. Franklin Street will be open to motorists (as usual). There will be NO Reyes Construction work on Franklin Street on Tuesday, October 31st, and Franklin Street will remain open to motorists until 5:00 PM. At that time, the M.T. Laney traffic crew will wrap yellow caution ribbon around the cones to guide trick-or-treaters to walkways. The weather forecast calls for winds tonight and tomorrow, and the crewmen want to apply the caution tape closer to the street [...]

Update: Phase #2 Franklin Street Road Work

Good news!  Today, Reyes Construction, the concrete contractor for M. T. Laney, successfully completed the removal and replacement of the "marked in white" concrete curbs/gutters/driveway aprons portion of this work. Thank you to the Franklin Street residents who have been so gracious and patient with the crewmen this week.  MT Laney - Franklin Street - Road Work Schedule Friday, 10/27 - 11/20 (estimated completion date) Repair of utility cuts in roadway begins. Franklin Street Roadwork Begins Wednesday, October 18

Dear Residents, In early September, Washington Gas completed Phase #1 of the Washington Gas Franklin Street gas main replacement project. This work was completed in six weeks, largely due to the cooperation and patience of Washington Gas construction supervisor, Jeff Sirk, and all the Franklin Street residents directly affected by this work. Bulk pick-up is Saturday, September 2. As a reminder, heavy refuse includes major appliances (must have Freon removed), furniture, large toys, bicycles, and plumbing fixtures. Excluded are batteries, propane tanks, bricks, general construction debris, and iron pipes. Please have your items at the curb by 7:00 AM on Saturday as the truck comes through early.
